WordPress 3.0 Beta released with new Twenty Ten default theme

WordPress 3.0 Beta 1 has been released with some new features introduced and a lot of improvements has been made.

The major change is the merger of wordpress and wordpress MU (multi-user) that allows multiple blogs to be operated on single wordpress installation.

Another notable changes is the new default theme, Twenty Ten. The new theme looks much better than previous wordpress theme based on Kubrick. Twenty Ten theme is white, minimal and highly customizable as you can change the looks of theme easily.

You can add custom menu to the theme such as adding custom links, add existing page or add an existing category. Dropdown menu is supported too, makes twenty ten looks more cooler.

Custom background is supported too with no css knowledge required. Just select the position, repeat, attachment and color then save changes and see for yourself. Or you can upload new background image to spice up your blog.

Header image can be changes easily and there are already 8 preinstalled header images that you can choose for your blog.  You can also upload new header image to replace the default one. Images of exactly 940 x 198 pixels will be used as-is.

I discovered few bugs when trying wordpress 3.0 such as the uploaded background not displaying in the background menu.

Since this is just a beta version, i expected the bugs will fixed and more features will be added and completed in the final version. As for twenty ten theme, i think i already fall in love with it. Haha.
